Hey Ken, I hope
you are doing well amidst all this economic turmoil going on. I guess
I'm going to have to compile an Electra mailing list so if there are any
inquiries I can just send e-mail out. In any case, here's one for you.
I have a
new main sail. I had two reefs put in this one for the added
capability of handling bad conditions. The problem is when I want to set the
second set of reefs, to get the grommet to the hook on the boom, I have to take
some sail slugs out of the slot to get the sail low enough. I keep one of those
little barrel plugs in the slot above the slug opening now and this
wasn't a problem with the single reefed sail.
My question to
you: Have you ever come across a suitable way/method of covering the opening
in the mast slot which would enable the slugs to stay in the track during
reefing? There is a neat little configuration on our Cape Dory 26 that is great
but not applicable to the Electra.
Let me know
what you think....
